A Gallery of Vic Seipke
ON THESE SIX PAGES, VIM presents a photo collection of Vic Seipke, the 22-year-old Detroiter who appeared on our much-praised July cover. The photos are by Detroit photog, Douglas, who produced the July cover shot.
Seipke, who now has 40 trophies in his collection, started training in 1949. He does most of his training at Detroit’s Northeastern YMCA. His most recent victory was in the “Mr. Central U.S.A.” show of 1954.
His physical statistics are impressive. At 5’9″, he weighs 198 lbs. He has a 19″ neck, 4912″ chest, 175%” bicep (nor- mal), 14″ forearm, 32″ waist, 264″ thighs, and 164″ calves. He has no “weak spots,” having won subdivision awards for every body section.
Seipke ignores “eccentric” training methods. He works hard and consistently and is constantly improving. He has a tremendous appetite, as we found when dining with him recently. We also found that he hasn’t let the attention and publicity go to his head. He is confident, but not con- ceited… a modest, unassuming, all-around “nice guy.”
