GEORGIA fire CRACKER So prolific their out- put and so excellent is the quality of both their models and photography that we actually suffer from an embarrassment of riches whenever we receive a parcel of pic- tures from Western Photography Guild. It's always difficult to choose one particular group as being their best repre- sentation of that month. But when we were preparing this issue we looked no deeper than the topmost picture in their parcel this model was it! How many covers alone he has appeared on is difficult to calculate. Certainly William Markdey Nixon 1- to give his name extended coverage as well has been the most versatile model. We've seen him not only in essentially physique pictures by Vulcan Bruce, Western Photography Guild and many others, but as fashion model and designer of beautiful things for men. We first became acquainted with Mark when he was a student at Culver Military Academy (he was a triple- stroke swimming champion, which accounts for his perfect physique) and sent us some small pictures of himself We printed them and followed his fascinating career through Washington University in St. Louis where he was graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, to Los Angeles where he now lives and has become even more famous especially for his designs. He is a friend of Tab Hanter and many other noted film stars and we like to think he is still our friend, too. As a salute to this extraordinary young man. who is so creative in so many ways we review some of his most exciting photographs. ERA
