J Brian on Timmy Young:

TIMMY YOUNG
I have been photographing Timmy on and off for sixteen years now beginning way back in 1964, and I can honestly say he has grown to be a better model and a better man. When I first met Tim it was in the Haight-Ashbury “Summer of Love” era and he was a runaway. Now he owns his own landscape business in Sacramento, California. Over the years I have taken thousands of pictures of Tim in dozens of different poses. For comparison, I’d like to lead off this section with shots of Timmy in the same poses shot in different years, concluding with some pictures we took just a few months ago.
Below on the left is Tim in our first session back in 1964, while the shot on the right is dated 1967. The picture on the opposite page was taken in 1970. Overleaf we have the Timmy in 1964, 70 and ’78.
The top picture on page 40 is 1964, the bottom shot comes from 1970 and the color photo on the next page was taken last year in 1979. The rest of the spread was taken earlier this year.
I’ve known Tim for sixteen years. He is a sensational model, a fine man and a dear friend. I hope he is still posing for me sixteen years from now. Stick around for issue 195, we’ll see.
