French court records of 1873, archived at the Tribunal Correctionnel de Paris documents that Pierre Pagnon was put on trail for selling & distributing Gaudenzio Marconi’s photographs which “corrupted public morality” inevitably, both were heavily fined & spent 6 months in prison.
