A fixture on the streets of San Francisco from the 70s until today, Peter Berlin worked with everyone from Andy Warhol to Robert Mapplethorpe to Tom of Finland, making all of his own clothes and directing two full length pornographic films in the mid-70s.
Peter Berlin’s most famous film Nights in Black Leather was one of the first to introduce the mainstream gay porn audience to the burgeoning leather scene and it caused a sensation.
Peter’s skills at costuming and photography made him extremely influential in the gay fashion of the 70s, becoming a strong influence on the california club kid look of the early 80s.
