Fred Harding was an advertising model in 1984 when he posed for this famous series by celebrity photographer Herb Ritts, part of his Body Shop series where the models play roles.

According to Paul Morris on Twitter: “The best known photos of a man with tires are Herb Ritts’ 1984 series showing model Fred Harding as a fantasy mechanic. The most famous (first below) was the last photo shot. The model was exhausted and irritable and just stood facing the camera.”
